The city of Ann Arbor has a pretty good bus service: AATA.
The university also has a good bus service.
There are a number of parking garages located near East Hall. The most convenient is probably the Forest Avenue Parking Garage located at 650 S Forest Ave.
We have reserved a number of rooms at the following hotels for March 1-6. All of these hotels are located in downtown Ann Arbor and are an easy walk to the University of Michigan campus. To book rooms at these hotels you should contact them directly before January 31. Reservations should be made over the phone, as the rooms we have booked have been blocked off online.
Stone Chalet
We have reserved 10 rooms at the Stone Chalet. The rate for these rooms is $159 per night. Four of these rooms (the Grand room, China room, Porch room and Veranda room) can accommodate two people. A fifth room (the Cuckoos room) has three beds. The other five rooms are all singles. Reservations for the Stone Chalet need to be made over the phone (734-417-7223) before January 31. While making reservations mention that you are part of the "Automorphic Forms Workshop” group.
Michigan League
We have reserved 6 rooms (all of which have a single King size bed) at the Michigan League. The rate for these rooms is $135 per night. Reservations need to be made over the phone (734-764-0446) before January 31. While making reservations mention that you are part of the "Automorphic" group.
Ann Arbor Bed and Breakfast
We have reserved 10 rooms at the Ann Arbor Bed and Breakfast. The rooms have one bed each, but three of them have the option of adding another bed (twin size). Two of the rooms also have a pull out couch with queen sized mattress. The price for those rooms range from $159/night - $199/night. Reservations need to be made over the phone (734-994-9100) before January 31.
There are a number of more affordable hotel options in Ann Arbor, though by and large these tend not to be within walking distance of campus. We recommend that participants interested in staying at one of these hotels check for rooms at Expedia, Orbitz, Kayak, etc.
Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Ann Arbor
Microtel Inn & Suites offers shuttles to and from the University of Michigan campus and is also located on an AATA bus route. Their daily rate tends to be about $60 or $70 per night.
Comfort Inn Suites
The Comfort Inn has a shuttle service that operates from 9am - 5pm and is also located near an AATA bus line. Rates should be between $80 and $90 per night.
Holiday Inn Ann Arbor
The Holiday Inn offers a complementary local area shuttle service (within 10 miles). Note that this Holiday Inn is different from the Holiday Inn Express and Suites mentioned below. We are currently discussing a group rate with the Holiday Inn, so participants interested in staying here should contact the organizers before booking a room.
Lampost Inn
The Lampost Inn is a budget hotel which is a long walk from campus (approximately 35 minutes) but is on a bus line that goes to campus. Rooms for this time of year tend to cost between $50 and $75 per night.
Holiday Inn Express and Suites Ann Arbor
The Holiday Inn is located near the Briarwood Mall, about three miles from campus. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Briarwood Mall bus stop where you can catch a bus to the University of Michigan campus. Rooms tend to cost about $120 per night.
Kensington Court Ann Arbor
The Kensington Court is another hotel located a couple of minutes walk from Briarwood mall and bus stop. Rooms tend to cost about $140 per night.
Candlewood Suites
Candlewood Suites is located near the Briarwood mall. The hotel is located near an AATA bus line. Rates should be around $85 per night.
