Winston-Salem is 35 miles from the Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro (airport code GSO). It is also 85 miles from the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (airport code CLT).
The most straightforward way to get to Wake Forest is to either rent a car at the airport you fly to, or take a taxi. Here are another couple of options that are more economical:
- There is a bus system called PART that picks up at the Greensboro airport and transports people to the PART regional hub (this is Shuttle 21). From there, one can take a bus (on Route 1) that picks up at the regional hub and goes to the Winston-Salem Transportation center. The total cost is $2.40. The Winston-Salem Transporatation center is about 4 miles southeast of Wake Forest, and one could take a short taxi ride or a city bus. Note that this bus system only runs Monday through Friday, and from about 6 am to 7 pm, so check the schedules carefully.
- There is an airport shuttle that will transport from the Charlotte airport to and from Hanes Mall in Winston-Salem. (Hanes Mall is about 5.5 miles south of Wake Forest University.) From Hanes Mall, one can take a city bus, or a taxi to Wake Forest University. The cost is $39 each way.
There are a number of parking lots near Manchester Hall. Here is a campus map (note that Manchester Hall is 20A).
